There was this older gentleman from a local town who was always bringing horses out for my dad to ride. He brought out this big white horse one day. We had him around the house for awhile, and my parents ended up buying him for me.
He was a booger to catch, and bridle. He had this thing about his ears. I eventually learned techniques for him though.
That poor boy, he put up with a lot from me. Trying to be Man from Snowy River going off any type of hill I could find, jumping mesquite bushes trying to make him into a hunter jumper, and even a race horse in an old lake bed.
If I ever went off he always stood there waiting for me to get back up and try to clamber back on.
He had to be my rodeo and show horse as well. We won a couple are so buckles in the horse show, it was always a time trying to get him clean for them.
He was a good steed, we went a lot of miles. He had his moments, but you gotta be kept on your toes.
