Grape harvest festival, and superheroes.

It is cold and rainy outside, and I'm curled up in the coffee shop, sipping hot chocolate, bundled up in a cozy sweater, with one more of my homework assignments out of the way.

I've been super blessed this weekend people, let me tell you.

Yesterday I woke up to fall. If you know me, you'll know fall is my most favorite season. I love the feeling in the air, the leaves falling off the trees, pretty much everything about it. I made my way to our Saturday morning brunch to find that we were having biscuits and gravy. Honestly, that alone would have made my whole day, but it got better. We were informed of a grape harvest festival going on in the village, so a couple hours later a group of us headed into the village.

It is a true cultural experience. The people dress up, and decorate their wagons. They go through town, then they all get out and eat, and dance.

We joined in on the dancing!

I cannot even express how cool it was. These kind of things are one of my favorite things about being in a foreign country, I love getting to be a part of their traditions and seeing their culture. Everyone was so nice, they offered us pastries, and when they started dancing pulled us in to dance with them.

After the festivities were over we headed back to the castle.

That nights theme for dinner was superhero/damsels in distress.

Its so much fun to see how creative everyone gets with their costumes, and I think out of the theme nights we've had so far this has been the one most participated in.

This morning I was able to go with a couple of sweet friends of mine with one of the families to church. It was such a blessing, it is kind of hard to go anywhere to church on Sunday's, so its really great anytime we get the opportunity.

So this has been my weekend. I'm a little sad it is almost over, but this time next week I'll be in Romania!

Enjoy your Sunday everyone!

Much love,
-Sara.

This whole year I’ve been learning more about God’s character…and it’s awesome. It isn’t that I haven’t known He is almighty, powerful, loving, and all those things…but sometimes things just become real to you in a new way, and you experience it, and it just knocks your socks off. His character has become more and more real to me every day. I find myself getting so focused on my own abilities, and how I come up short, but all I’m doing is putting my eyes on myself, and not Who is in me.

1 John 4:4 “You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.”

I just see that when am asked to do anything that terrifies me, or stretches me in any way I look first at my own abilities, instead of looking first at His. I fall way short, I think we all do. I don’t know what any of you are going through right now, but if God is asking you to do something and you don’t think you can, remember to look up. He equips those He call. He is good, love, the fountain of living water, longsuffering, just, and powerful. I’m still learning this, and He is constantly reminding me of it, but it is so good. His strength is made perfect in our weakness!

With that, I’m asking for prayer for these next couple of weeks… Our 10 day outreach teams leave out in 9 days! I’m going Romania, and we’ve got others going to Greece, Kosovo, Serbia, and here in Hungary. Pray that the Lord prepare all our hearts, keep us all safe, and that we can effectively share Christ with those we come in contact with. A lot of the teams will be doing street witnesses, working around different churches, sports ministry, etc. We’re going to orphanages and to an abandoned baby hospital, I believe we’ll be doing some skits and street witnessing as well. I think they are all going to be amazing, but super challenging trips.

Hoping the rest of yalls week is amazing!
