Hello 2010

Happy New Year everyone!

I'm in Texas right now, for a weekend of family time! :D I am currently camped out in my grandma's basement right now, I made it until midnight, and am now wild eyed and bushy tailed.

Crazy to think a new year is here already! seems like it wasn't that long ago and we were just beginning 2009. It always seems very exciting to start out a new year, just seeing what is holds. What the Lord has.

2009 seemed to go by so fast, but it seemed like so much went on. I was in a new job, have met tons of new people, some of them being really close friends now, which I am very thankful for.
So here's a smallish recap, with pictures, you know how I am ;)

^
the best thing, this little guy came into the world. I really do have the cutest nephew ever, no lie.

^
I got a new camera ((it was a great moment for me, okay!)

^
I helped put together a house in San Leon, Texas!

^
and met all these amazing people

^
I spent a week in the Bahamas! and fell in the love with the kids, and met more amazing people!

Those were the bigger things that happened
It was definitely a year of new and interesting things, and many new friends (:

Blessing to all of you in this new year!

To give unselfishly, to love the least of these
Jesus i'm learning how to live with open hands
All of these treasures that i hold will never satisfy my soul
Jesus i lay it at your throne with open hands

And i lift my hands open wide let the whole world see
how u've loved, how you died, how you set me free!
Free at last i surrender all i am with open hands
with open hands

To finally let go of my plans
These earthly kingdoms built of sand
Jesus at your cross i stand with open hands

And i lift my hands open wide let the whole world see
how You've loved, how you died, how you set me free
Free at last i surrender all i am with open hands
with open hands
You took the nails and you wore the crown
You hung your head, your love poured out
You took my place and you paid the price
So Jesus now i will give my life!!!!!!!!!

And i lift my hands open wide let the whold world see
how You've loved, how you died, how you set me free
Free at last i surrender all i am with open hands
Jesus i lift my hands open wide let the whole world see
how You've loved, how you died, how you set me free
Free at last i surrender all i am with open hands with open hands

with open hands
with open hands
with open hands

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!

All I want for Christmas is a Hippo

Well no not really.
I mean that would be silly! where on earth would I keep a Hippo?

I just happened to have heard that song for the first time only moments ago, and it amused me somewhat. Such a odd Christmas song.

I can't believe Christmas is almost here! Where has this month gone? this whole year in fact.
Thankfully all my Christmas shopping has been completed, well for the most part anyway. I really do love this time of year. Christmas songs, hot chocolate, the cold weather, all the cookies and goodies, oh yes indeed.

Well I must scurry off to do other things.

I love the Fall

Even though the only thing that makes it feel fall around here is the leaves changing colors, and falling off the trees. Since around here we have 70-80 degree weather, instead of nice fall feeling weather...not that I'm bitter or anything.

But anyway...all non bitterness aside. It's been a crazy past few weeks.

Last Monday Shane and Shane was in town and put on a free concert. It was, to say the least, amazing. Definitely go down in the books as my favorite concert ever.

Wednesday I chopped off all my hair...well ok. Maybe not all of it, but when you have pretty long hair, taking three and half inches off seems like all of it. But I gotta say I do like it.

The weekend was just amazing. Friday night watched some football. Saturday consisted of a movie, and trips to PetCo, Walmart, Hobby Lobby, Hastings, with my good buddy.

Sunday night Jeremy Camp was in town!! definitely my second favorite concert. It was pretty amazing as well, I enjoyed it quite a lot. As my good friend Jess said, its great to start and end a week with a concert. No doubt about that.

That was last week. This week has been... we'll just say..iffy. Sounds like a good word to me. But I won't get into it. I'm just thankful for a Savior who holds us up, who is there to help us through the rough days, and for an amazing friend who can cheer me up probably way to easy.

So I'll say goodbye now, and try not to be such a stranger.

Jess

I'm trying to get a little more into people photography. A good friend of mine agreed to let me use her for practice, to kinda start building portfolio. So here are a couple or so that I took.

Honest Scrap

My dearest seester Jennifer tagged me..so here goes. boy this is kind of a like those "About Me's" where you just don't know what to write...or maybe that's just me.

So here are 10 honest to goodness things about me. Honestly.

1. I spent most of my childhood wanting to be a ranching/ FBI/CIA agent when I grew up, and spent a lot of time acting like a secret agent.

2. I, like my sister, used to be horribly shy, I started to slowing grow out of it when I got a job. But am not hardly at all since I started working at the hardware last year.

3. I am deathly afraid of spiders.

4. I love old Disney movies.

5. I always thought it would be awesome to live back in like medieval times, and I still wanna own a sword.

6. I very rarely admit to something upsetting, or bothering me.

7. I am a sinner, saved by the Grace of Jesus.

8. I don't do well being in groups of people, would much rather just be with a one or two good friends.

9. I can't fall asleep unless I'm on my stomach, unless I'm just really tired.

10. I am a huge bookworm

and now I will tag some people, just not nine. sorry.

An adventure of sorts

It all started this morning, my boss calls me and tells me to have the day off. So I spend the day doing school, reading, a other various things. Four rolls around and I decide to go drive around see if I can find anything interesting to take pictures of. I turn off onto this one road, realize its a wee bit sandy so go to turn around and leave...and I..well get stuck. More liked buried my pickup in the sand. I have no cell service whatsoever.

So I spend the next few hours trying to dig myself out with numerous objects. I almost get out a few times, but just don't make it. It was then that I started to feel somewhat hopeless. I was stuck in the middle of nowhere, quite a while from home, and no cell service. I didn't know what to do, I sat there, I walked around muttering, I started to pray. There were a couple of places I could get one bar on my phone, but anytime I tried calling out all I got was "call failed." I came so close to throwing my phone. Course that wouldn't have done any good. I'm not much of a crier, but I was coming close. For the first hour I was ok, not really all that worried about it. But as time goes on, sun starts going down, I was getting a little worried. Finally I just started walking, and get a couple bars, so I try calling, praying it goes through, and it does! I'm not sure I've ever felt more relieved.

My parents came for my rescue. Sad things is, once I was out and rescued my dads pickup got stuck. Whoa boy. So we spent the next few hours trying to HIS out. We finally did, after wondering if we'd ever get it out. But we did, and right as a storm was blowing in. Thank you Jesus. So below are a couple of pictures.

yep

my self portrait of my distressed self :P

it actually got stuck TWO times. We got it out once, only to have it get stuck once again.

I'm kinda glad that adventure is over. I think I will look back and laugh, probably pretty soon. Right now I'm just glad I'm not sitting out there in a storm, covered in dirt and smelling like exhaust.

.. (:

So exactly what is this business about it being September already!?! Aye. Just don't know where this year has gone. I do have to apologize for my lack of blogging. See, I always say when I get home from work, hey I'm going to blog later on tonight...then I decide..ah I'll just blog tomorrow...and then there is just this vicious cycle that starts, and I never end up blogging. But now here I am. So what is going on in my life? Well not to much really. Work, and the rest. Football season has started, woot woot. Friday night football games are always fun. I have a new colt, he's a year and a half, blind in one eye, and a stud, and I didn't pay a dime for him. My brother traded work for him from a good buddy of his. Its different working with one like that, but I'm always down for a new experience ;)

What else? hm.. I...ran outta gas on the way home from work the other day!! yea that was fun. I'm really smart. But hey it happens? ...right? yeah yeah I know, only to me cause the rest of you are smart and actually put gas in your vehicles.

but anyways.

Is that all the tales I have to tell....looks like it. As it is I'm feeling not to bueno at this moment, don't know if I'm coming down with something or what. So this is the extent of my post.

Until next time, adios.

Whats funny? hearing my older brother tell a horse he is shoeing to...
"Take it like a man! stop being a woman!"

and...

the ultimate nerd...
a guy I see in a restaurant with a little button that says..
I ♥ math.

yeah.

sorry if I offended a math lover there.
...I mean its cool if you love math...
I won't hold your nerdyness against you.

I continue to play with my new camera, and love it :) I have recently discovered a love for taking very simple things and capturing them in different ways. So here we have a few, kind of random, and different type of photos. Definitely nothing extraordinary, but I like it. Around 6:30am was the time I took these, the lighting coming through the window is the best.
