There are some days when... I feel like... a mom. These are days when my mother is either gone, or outside... doing... yard work, gardening, or... whatever else it is that she does. On these specific days guess who gets the responsibility of being the... how would you put it... lady of the house? I guess that'll work. This person gets the duties of, cleaning the house, taking care of the laundry, cooking, and breaking up sibling fights. So, guess who this person was? Me. Yes, little 'ole me. Since, I happen to be the only other girl in the house, I get the duties. Today was one of those days. The mamacita (that is spanish for mama... ok, that is MY own spanish word for mama) has a desk she is refinishing, so, she went out this morning to work on it. And I'm left with, a uncleaned house, and laundry, oh and our pet coon... I mean.... uhh... Nathan.
I start by putting the dishes in the dishwasher. Then clean the bathroom. And then, straighten up the living room. Then, I must go back to the kitchen and clean it up better. I start by spraying the cabinets with bleach. Nathan comes in.
Me: "You need to do your math Nathan."
Nathan: "I don't know how many pages to do!."
Me: "How many do your usually do?"
Nathan: "Two."
Me: "Well, then. Do two."
Nathan: "But mama might want me to do more!"
Me: "Well, if she wants you to do more then you then she can tell you whenever she gets in. But right now you can go ahead and do two."
(Nathan screeches in frustration)
Nathan: "Sometimes you make me want to bang my head on a wall."
Me: "Well then do it hard."
Ok, that might have been mean. But he was being very frustrating. After threatening to go get mama he finally sits down. He tells me.
"I can't help it that I hate math."
No, of course you can't help it. Believe me I feel the child's pain. I myself hate math. I sat down last night and stared at a page of math for several minutes. With the same thought rolling through my mind. I hate math. (Ok, there might have been other thoughts but I won't mention them)
I don't do well in math, I just can't comprehend it. So, as I said. I can understand his pain. But, I do think it would save him a lot of pain and heartache if he'd just do it. And there are lots of things we have to do in our life that we don't like. Sadly. School is just one of those things.
So, after awhile he is instructed to go outside. Well, he doesn't want to go outside. Too bad little boy, you have to go outside. I tell him to go out. "But I don't wannnt toooo." Outside I tell you! I tell him a couple of times. He... makes some kind of noise. I don't really know how to describe it. Its between a screech and a yell. Then I look in here from the kitchen and see him sprawled out face down on the floor, inches from his room. Oh dear. The poor, innocent little child! He's passed out from... the math! Yes, all that math he had to do just wore out his brain and it made him pass clear out. Me, being the kind, caring sister I am dash over and turn him over. Crying. "Nathan! Wake up! Oh please wake up, don't go into the light!" Tears are streaming down my face. And then! A eyelid flickers. And! OH! He's awake!
Ok... so... maybe that is... stretching the truth... just a little. What I actually did was holler at him to get up and go get his boots on, and then go outside. See, aren't I kind and caring? Finally, I have to take drastic measures. I call him a..... city kid. And oh! that gets him going. "I AM NOT A CITY KID." and, blah, blah, blah, and then, "Fine! I'll go!"
Being called a city kid is much worse then being called a pack rat, let me tell ya. Jennifer and Taylor used to call me one when I was younger and it just made my blood boil. I did not want to be called a city kid, to me it was just like being called a sissy, or a wimp. It was always the ultimate insult. So, now, I use it on Nathan. But only when he's acting like one. I know, I'm cruel. I sure hope I never acted like one.... Anyway. I see the little... child, walking into the living room. I ask him why his socks and boots aren't on. In a very snappy tone he says. "I had to get my SOCKS out of the DRYER!" Yikes, sorry, didn't mean to hit a nerve there. Oh yeah, and he fires me. From being a jerk, yeah. He's already fired me from being mean, and this time it was from being a jerk. If he keeps firing me I'm not going to have any jobs left.
Well, anyway. He finally goes outside. And I continue with my other mom duties. I try to keep myself from feeling like a mom by listening to rock music. Moms don't listen to rock music right? I know mine doesn't. Oh, sliding around on the kitchen floor, singing, and... yeah... Moms don't do that kind of stuff either do they? I do this while cooking dinner... another mom thing. We had hamburger meat mixed in with potatoes... or would it be potatoes mixed in with hamburger meat.... hmmmmm...... and, biscuits. Yeah. So, now. I'm going to be a teenager and neglect the rest of my duties and go ride. Wow, I'm such a rebel.
Later... oh wait, moms wouldn't say later... Ummm.... Farewell... that better?

Packrateness
I'm not even sure packratness it a word... but whatever. So, I've been... scolded by three people,( whom shall remain nameless) for not blogging. *hangs head in shame* I'm sorry okay! I happen to have a life, and I've just been SO busy that I haven't had time to post... okay that is a lie. A big, fat lie. Ya'll all know that I have no life, and I don't stay that busy... sadly. No, the real reason is... well... I just haven't had a whole lot to blog about, and... I... haven't really been in the blogging mood... But I'm here now! So, I'm going to talk about packratness.
If you looked up pack rat in the dictionary you'd see my little brothers Nathan's picture right there. He is a pack rat. He collects tops from yogurt... and coke cans... and numerous other things. That is a pack rat. A pack rat is someone who keeps things that just need to be thrown away. A pack rat is someone who has all this... stuff, it can be anything, stored away in their rooms, house, barn... whatever.
I am not a pack rat.
Today I woke up and decided, I'm going to re-arrange my room! ....again. So, after filling my belly and doing the things that I do in the morning I proceeded to start picking up things off my floor, and doing all that fun stuff. Then, I had to pull the mattress out from under my bed. Yes, I happen to have a mattress under my bed... why? Well... because... when me and my sister shared a room we have bunk beds. When she up and got married the bunk beds went away and I got just a single twin bed... well, actually its called a day bed... I don't really understand why... I mean, you sleep on beds at night. So, why would they call it a day bed? Hmmm? I'm getting side tracked here. Anyway, so when the bunk beds went away there were two mattress, and the one had to go somewhere. So, it got placed underneath my bed. After much pulling and tugging and breaking the little handle thingy I get it out. Whew! Then into the living room it goes.
I then proceed to start moving the dresser. This is a massive dresser, and it is extremely heavy. My back is complaining right now. My mom comes in and decided to help. She looks at my room in... disgust. And you know what she called it? a pig pen. Yes, that is right a PIG PEN. My room is NOT a PIG PEN thank you. Ahem. So, she has me vacuum along the base boards, and vacuum up some cob webs that where up in the corners. Sorry little spiders for taking your home... and you life. *laughs evilly* Yeah, I sucked up a couple of spiders too. What!? I HATE spiders, with a passion. Just go ahead and call PETA if you want. After chasing, and sucking up spiders mama comes in and does a little touch up painting on the walls. Then, we move the bed. But only after I have to take a bunch of stuff off of it. Because "We wouldn't be able to move it with all that stuff on there." Well, fine. The bed gets moved, we vacuum. Blah, blah, blah. And you know what I got called?
A Pack rat.
Yes, that is right. A pack rat. She just put a knife into my heart. And.... twisted it. You cannot imagine the unbearable pain it caused me to be called such a thing! The tears I cried...! I am not a rat, and I am definitely not a pack rat! So... maybe I'm bad about not throwing things away... and sometimes have junk. But that doesn't make me a pack rat! She was making fun of me for keeping receipts! Receipts are good things to keep. Okay... so... maybe ones from Taco Bell, and Starbucks don't really need to be kept... I mean... I don't think I'll be returning food to them or anything... But I didn't keep them for any reason. Its just when I come home, I clean out my pockets and I put everything on my dresser, and just don't get to throwing some things away. So, that is where the receipts... and stuff, come from.
After being... insulted we went about finishing re-arranging the room. The desk and book shelf got moved to the north wall, bed to the east wall, and the dresser and mirror to the south wall. Oh, and you know what I had to do! I had to crawl on to the top of the dresser so, I could make my world map even. It wasn't in the center of the wall, and wasn't even... I would have never given it a second thought. I thought it was fine. But, she didn't seem to care what I thought.
The furniture finally got all straightened out. Then it was time for me to go through stuff. I knew I had clothes that I'd out grown so, I went through all of them. And then my two bottom drawers in my dresser had some stuff in them. No, not junk. Very valuable things! Seriously. Just because some... well... most if it ended up getting thrown away does not make it junk! Now, everything has been gone through... wellll... not everything. The desk has yet to be ventured into to. But that'll just have to wait another day. My book shelf has been dusted, and everything put back on it. So, my room is pretty well done. I still have some clothes I need to hang up... And some... valuable things that need to be put out in the pickup so it can go to the Salvation Army. And... well... I think that is just about all I have to do.
I need to go get ready for Church now... I'll probably think of importance later that I failed to mention... I do that sometimes. But, I reckon this has been a long enough post. But hey, ya'll bugged me to post. So, I did. Alright. I'm leaving now.
Let it be known to the world that... I AM NOT A PACK RAT.

I passed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I passed my drivers test. I now have a nice, shiny, drivers license =) I'm super excited. I was really nervous. And didn't think I'd pass, she didn't even tell me. I didn't know until they started taking all my information. The lady was real nice, and told me I did a real good job. But I did drive too slow. Haha. She just said that was natural though. Better then going to fast I think! I don't know what my score was... it doesn't really matter though. So, yes =) I am a legal, licensed driver =D Well, just thought I'd share the news!
Later.
Later.

Just... stuff.
Saturday was the 4-H Valentines Dance. Yes, it was fun. It didn't really get started until 9:00. They had to do the Sweetheart and Beau thing first. I shall explain. Every year in Febuarary the 4-H clubs pick a girl and boy for the Sweetheart and Beau, then at the Valentines dance they have to walk together and get to be talked about. I have been able to get out of it every year but this year... I didn't... I could have if it hadn't been for a certain person... anyway. So, I had to put on this little sash that said, Kountry Kids, and hold flowers, then walk down with a little kid. It wasn't to bad... I don't guess.... Here is a picture, its pretty dark.

Yeah... So, after all this was over we finally got to the dancing! It got better as the night went on... though I do wish they'd have turned off the lights. I didn’t dance with anyone for awhile. Well, I did with Caitlin, we like to go out there and sing. Hehe. Then, I got asked by Mike. Well, not really asked. It was more of “Sara, come dance with me.” Then Joshua came and we danced several times… Oh, and he taught me the Waltz too. It was interesting. Then I danced with Sterling. I had joked with him earlier about not asking me. So, close to the end of the dance he came over grinning and asked. He’s pretty fun to dance with. I did the Macarena, electric slide, and that other one… oh, and the Cotton Eyed Joe… Okay, I attempted the Cotton Eyed Joe, I pretty much stink at it. But I still do it… It was a pretty fun dance, the last one was better. But I stilled enjoyed it. So, that is what I did Saturday night… got to bed pretty late… then had Church the next morning. I mean… that morning… yeah, it was midnight.’
So, that was that. Sunday was… uneventful. The sermon was really good, we’ve been going through Hebrews and it has been really, really good. And…. Yesterday was… uneventful. Just work, then youth which was very good =)
Today… hmmm… I got to cook dinner today. My mom had her quilting class, so, that left me to be the… head of the house? Umm… something, for… awhile. My mom mentioned that I could try and make the Buckaroo Bundles from Karin’s (Lovin’ Life at the end of the Dirt Road) blog. I thought, okay! Well, since we didn’t have frozen bread dough I was going to have to make my own dough. I started at… 9:30… I think. It was… overwhelming. I made a mess… a BIG mess. I hadn’t got the whole kitchen cleaned up from breakfast so… it was… messy.
We have...
The recipe.

Hehe, these eggs made me laugh. I've seen all the commercials for the egglands best eggs. And then I open the carton, and BAM! there are eggs with EB on them. The carton says they are supposed to be these great eggs... they are eggs. How can they be different from any other eggs? Do they feed the chickens something special or what? I wonder how they get EB on the eggs too. There must be like a stamp machine... that well... stamps them... or something. These are the things I wonder....
Fancy eggs go in the handy dandy Bosch.

Add some sugar, salt, and oil and you have this.

Then you have the yeast mixed in with the warm water

Add 6 cups of flour and the yeast...

Its swirling!
Time to knead it... Before...

After!

Its a big blob... a blob of... dough.
In the bowl it goes.

Ahh! there! I did it.

And now they are all cooked.

I hope I did everything right! It took me forever! I'm really slow, chopping up the potatoes took me ages. I cooked them in the Wok, like in Karin's recipe. Hehe, the Wok. That just cracks me up... wok... haha... hahahaha. My dad informed it was a Chinese food thing. Pretty funny name. "I'm cooking in the Wok!." Hehe, okay. I'm done. Ahem. Along with the Buckaroo Bundles I steamed some veggies, and cooked some corn.
It ended up being an all morning thing. Mainly cause I'm slow. I had to wash a bunch of dishes... and I had flour, and dough, and egg, and potatoes, and cheese, and... just... stuff, everywhere! I was feeling very overwhelmed. Then my brother came in and asked "What are you making for dessert?" Dessert! its stinkin' 11:30! Yes, I ended up making dessert. I whipped together some brownies. They aren't very good... I didn't think. But they didn't seem to have any problem eating them. Uhhh... then... we ate my delightful meal! Well... I don't know if it was delightful or not. But my dad liked it, and I guess Taylor did... Nathan didn't. But Nathan is just picky so it doesn't bother me.
After we ate I had the rest of the house to clean. So, I did that. Then, school took up the rest of my afternoon. Stinkin' history had 26 darn questions... ugh. And now... I sit here... I'm kind of tired. I'm going to be crashing soon. I'm taking my drivers test tomorrow!!!!!!!!! I definitely don't want to be sleepy during that. I am excited =) Lord willing I'll pass... I really hope I do. So, I'm getting out of here. Wish me luck! I'll let ya'll know how it goes.
Adios.

Happy Valentines day.
This is a day that celebrates love. Remember.
"Love suffers long and is kind;
love does not envy;
love does not parade itself,
is not puffed up;
does not behave rudely,
does not seek its own,
is not provoked,
thinks no evil;
does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
bears all things,
believes all things,
hopes all things,
endures all things.
Love never fails."
1 Corinthians 13:4-9
"And now abide faith, hope, love these three; but the greatest of these is love."
1 Corinthians 13:13
That is real love. Remember His great love for us.

Being brilliant.
No, I didn't go to church this morning. I'm suffering from a sickness... a terrible, awful sickness. I'm long for this world. I have one foot in the grave, and other on a banana pill. Okay, I'm being a little dramatic. I do have a cold, but I'm getting over it. So, I'm going to tell ya'll about my brilliance. I really am brilliant.
You know what brilliant thing I did Friday? I was cooking supper, I had decided on hamburger patties, and french fries. Since I was running out of time. So, after I had the potatoes chopped up all like... well... french fries. And was about to season them. I opened up the cabinet door, and just kind of glanced up. I saw something that I thought was pepper, just by glancing up it looked like pepper. So, I grabbed it, opened it up, and proceeded to dump something that wasn't pepper all over the french fries. Guess what? it was oregano. Yes, oregano. I had just dumped oregano all over my french fries. I was... very... unhappy. Yep, it was brilliant.
Yesterday... I broke the fish bowl. Yep, another brilliant thing. I was cleaning it. And had hot water running into it, with soup. And then I heard this crack, looked down, and there was this crack. Yeah, brilliant.
Today, I decided to make tea. I unwrapped one of the packages. And, I threw it in the pot... or at least I tried. I dropped it, and the bag part missed the pot and fell into the burner. So, it... well... burned. I just sat there, watching it. And all I was... "Brilliant." Oh yeah, and I dropped the butter knife on the floor, barely missing my toe and getting butter all over the floor.
Phoo. I'm so brilliant.

A timeless photograph.
Yesterday, I had the wonderful opportunity to capture this timeless picture. A picture that should be hanging in galleries, a picture that should be put into poster sized and hanging in peoples living rooms. Or whenever people hang amazing photos. Ready to see it? are you sure? positively sure? Okay. Here it is.

Beautiful isn't it? Just absolutely stunning. Can't you see it hanging in living rooms all around the world? I just think it captures the heifer so well. Just look at it. Perfect. I think I shall sell it for hundreds of dollars. Do you know how long it took me to capture this? hours. I had to sit out in the pen, right by the water trough, watching a bunch of heifers. Until finally! the time came! The heifer got a drink of water and then begin to... well... lick her nose.
I think my mom thought it was kind gross... my dad just laughed.
No taking it and saving it to your computer now. I know you'd like to print it off and put it up on your wall, or have it as your computers background, but you'll just have to buy it. I'm asking 200 for it.
I hope you've enjoyed it.

I like ice cream
Yes, I do. It is one of the most yummiest things EVER. Seriously. I'm sitting here eating a bowl right now. Butter pecan, and mocha mudslide... Mmmm... so good it is sinful. Feed me ice cream, and I'll love you forever. It just this yummy... creamy... goodness..... death in a bowl, yes instead of death in a pan, it is death in a bowl. I could eat ice cream any day, anytime, anywhere. So now that I've told ya'll about my love of ice cream I guess I can talk about this past weekend.
Friday... started out boring. But then we headed off for town, there was a concert that night at the church. The band was called IVES, they are just starting out so they aren't very popular. But before the concert I had to go to the 4H meeting with my brother and wait for my parents to come get me. I was there for like half of it, and our club leader was ticked at me for not staying. She didn't say anything, but I could just tell. I think she was fuming. But you know what? I don't care, I wasn't going to miss the concert for a 4H meeting. The concert was.... AWESOME. Really awesome. They played praise and worship and it was just amazing. I cannot even explain it.... I bought their CD, but it didn't have the praise songs on there... I was really hoping it would, but the cd is really good! I happen to be listening to it right now.
After the concert we had ICE CREAM! Me, Shadoe, Caitlin, and Joshua all had two bowls... yeahh... It was pretty yummy. While we ate ice cream we chatted... and... acted strange... but that is just us. Then after awhile Caitlin left :( Then Shadoe a little bit later. So me and Joshua sat around... eating m&ms. Justin's daughter, Macy came around, and threw m&ms at Joshua, seriously. And he caught them in his mouth... well most of them. I made a smiley face out of m&ms too... that Joshua kept making fun off! It was an awesome smiley face, then I wrote my name in m&ms. Then, Macy spelled hers. Yes, it was fun =) After awhile... we left. Got home pretty late, and I didn't get much sleep. But at least I fell asleep pretty fast. I put on David Crowder and just fell right off to sleep. Hmmmm.
Uhhh... yesterday was... boring. Completely and utterly boring. I was a bum too. Yeah, I'm ashamed of myself. But oh well. I did go out and run! in the evening. Well, I ran, then walked, then ran some more.
Today... was... interesting I guess. Church was good, I got really confused. Go read Hebrews chapter 6 verses 4-6. Scary verses. But it was a good service. After church, someone started texting me, that I had no clue who was. And I started getting really confused, I could not, for the life of me figure out who it was. My head hurt. But finally, after, forever I found out who it was. Turns out I didn't actually know the girl, but I knew the person who was getting her to text me. Yeah... it was... interesting. Ahem. Uhhh then, we left at 3:15 to go watch Alvin and the Chipmunks! We, being, me, Nathan, and my dad. And we met Joshua there. I thought the movie was really cute! "Don'tcha wish your girlfriend was hot like me... don'tcha wish your girlfriend was a freak like me.... AHHHH!!!!!!" "What are you doing in there!?!" "I was waiting for the rinse cycle." hahaha. The chipmunk was in the dishwasher. Yeah, I pretty much want a chipmunk now. They are SO cute! Hehe.
Okay, I'm going to go gain a few more pounds by eating more ice cream. Then bed, I need to be able to stay awake tomorrow.
Later dudes.
