Unchanging.

Here's to ramen noodles and late night photo editing.

I nearly choked on ramen noodles once...
I'm only telling you that so next time you get that craving for ramen noodles you'll understand there can be dangers involved.

Well, it has been awhile hasn't it? I've been suffering from writers block, or maybe I'm just lazy, but writers block sounds better. I just know every time I'd get on blogger and open of the a new post I'd sit there staring at the page until I just gave up.

I've been somewhat busy, mostly just with work. I've been able to have one photo shoot that I did today [my reason for being up and eating ramen editing pictures]*I'd also like to note that I hate editing pictures...not that I edit that much, because I hate over edited pictures... but occasionally the lighting or color does need to be tweaked, and that telephone pole needs to be cropped out, you know. And was a second shooter for a friend awhile back for a family.

^This was the one I helped a friend with. This is a family from our church.

^This is the one I did today. This is my friend Caroline, who I work with, and her fiancee Joe!

.....:::::.....:::::....

The main reason I wanted to post tonight was this...
1 Corinthians 3:11 "For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid with Jesus Christ."

The Lord really just stuck this verse out to me the other day.... Christ is our foundation, and our foundation needs to be laid in Him. Things are changing around us, our world is continually changing, and if you're like me you might not always take some change to well, but change is inevitable. But we have a God who is never changing. The Word tells us He is the same yesterday, today and forever. We need to have that solid foundation in Him if we are to not be moved by the changes taking place. There are good and bad changes. For me personally there are changes taking place, my brother is getting married, and I'm about to have a new little niece. These are both great changes that I'm excited for, but changes nonetheless. I came back to some changes in my job, different little changes around me that have thrown me for a loop. I'm in a completely different season, I have a huge vast unknown before me. I don't have a set plan, no four years of college laid out before me. I'm just seeing what doors the Lord opens and the ones He closes...and it is scary, but I know that is why He has been showing me more and more to have that foundation in Him. To just be completely rooted in Him. That is one of the coolest things I learned in the spring, we studied a lot about God's character, and a lot of it was taking out of the Old Testament... really reading and studying His character amazed me, a lot of things were just 'simple truths' if you will, but they stood out to me in a whole new way, and reading about this God that did all these amazing things in the Old and New Testament is the same God we serve today, He hasn't changed at all. I think we've just forgotten who He is.

He's unchanging.

In this constant changing world I find comfort in that.

I can't hardly believe I've already been home a week now! Getting home was an experience. My flights from Budapest to Frankfurt, and Frankfurt to Budapest were fine. I got into Houston at 5:30 and my flight for my final destination was supposed to leave at 6:30. I had to go through customs, get my bags, and recheck them, and I only had an hour. Well I couldn't do it, and thought I had missed my flight...I was so tired and frustrated, I just wanted to be home, but the Lord answered my prayers and my flight was delayed two hours! Thank you Jesus! They lost my luggage, and it found its way back home to me Tuesday...chocolate and all intact... (:

I'm determined to not ever flying continental again.

I started back to my old job at the hardware yesterday, super thankful they took me back for the summer! So I'm finally getting back into the swing of things. I've been a little, 'home' Hungary sick...but I'm kind of excited to see what the Lord has for for here this summer.

Tuesday they branded out here at the house, so I braved the wind for a few minutes to take some pictures!

Tadpole wanted in on some of the action!

Long layovers are good for blog posts.

I seem to find myself crying in airports a lot.

Wondering how I always end up with such a heavy backpack, and why airport food is always so expensive.

3 ½ months ago I was sitting in an airport crying because I was leaving my home and family. Today I’m sitting in one crying because I’m leaving the place that has become another home to me, and people who have become family to me.

Don’t mistake me…I am excited to be going home, and so excited to see my family. I’ve missed them all a lot…but leaving is hard.

I’ve gotten to once again see how terrible I am at goodbyes. I’ve spend the past 3 ½ months laughing, and crying right alongside these people that have become my brothers and sisters…but this is just a part of it I’m told, I’ve been told by several missionaries that goodbyes are unavoidable and you have to learn to deal with them.

I wish I could put this semester into words. I really do. It was challenging, stretching, hard, stressful, and amazing. I was broken, learned how to find my true joy in the Lord, stressed about homework assignments, learned so much from the classes, fell more in love with Jesus.

I remember stepping off that place 3 months ago. I was sick, and tired, and never so glad to be some place in my life. Part of me was excited to be there, the other part was dreading it. I remember thinking how in the world am I going to be 1000’s of miles away from home, for so long. The first week was really a time of being refreshed in the Lord. Previous to going to Hungary I’d been going through such a dry spell, I wasn’t wholly following after the Lord, and was in just kind of a luke-warm state….but that first week the Lord reminded me through the Word and through teachings, how much He loved me and wanted me back, He wanted me all to Himself, and to take off the baggage I was carrying. From there it was a process of surrendering over everything to Him. The big plans I had made, and even just the small little things, He asked for everything, and it hurt. I felt like I was being stripped of everything, and I didn’t know what to do, but He brought me through it.

Since I grew up in a Christian home and in church I ‘knew’ a lot of things in my head, but it wasn’t applied in my head, nor were a lot of things fully real to me, but there were so many things that just became real to me. We talk about God’s grace, and His power, well those things became so real to me. We read about His forgiveness, and the freedom we have in Christ, but those were things I actually got to experience, to take off those chains, and leave them off. I really got to see Romans 8:1 in my own life.

Overall I learned just how much I needed Him, in just my day to day life. Not to just go to Him when I need something, but just have the true fellowship and abiding in Him. Being in constant prayer…oh prayer, that was a big thing. I learned so much about prayer, one of my ‘assignments' for Nehemiah class was to keep a weekly prayer journal, and I had a prayer partner that I met with once a week and we prayed for an hour.

I learned to stop relying on my own strength and to rely fully on Him. Philippians 4:13 is pretty legit people.

Jesus is just awesome.

I wish there were a better word.

After being in places with different languages, and hearing that they have bigger vocabularies I’ve decided English needs to add a few more words in.

I’m going to miss it, and pray the Lord sends me back next semester… (:

Now I’m just waiting on my flight to Frankfurt, then Frankfurt to Texas. Praying I sleep a lot, I’ve been awake since 8 yesterday morning. We left the college at 3 this morning, so I just didn’t go to sleep. If I could sleep that whole 10 hour flight, that would be perfectly ok with me.

I’m really looking forward to a steak…and a hamburger…green chili too… :) really just southern and Mexican food in general.

“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.” Isaiah 43:2-3

^The Lord showed me this verse a few days ago, and it rocks my socks off. I really needed it at that time, and it was super comforting. Jesus is always going to be with us. Through the rivers, water, and fire. He is mighty to save.

My journey home continues.

It has been busy around here these past few days!
Saturday I was up early for an adventure to Budapest for my last here weekend!

We went to the zoo!!

I really want a Lemur...

It's a huge zoo...and we conquered it all! I definitely want a kangaroo and a Lemur even more now. I don't know where they would live....but that is just a minor difficulty.

Selah and Clemens, my traveling companions!

Yesterday was graduation!!

Dining room girls!

Congrats all you CCBCE graduates!

Today was castle cleaning! we were broken up into groups and had all had different places in the castle to clean.

Now I'm barely keeping my eyes open, and am having to retype every few words....apparently I can't type or spell when I'm tired....nor can I think of anything else to say.

My head is going to find its way to the pillow now.
