BIG news!

No, I'm not getting married.

BUT I am going back to Hungary!!!!! In fact this time next week I'll probably be somewhere over the big ole ocean blue.

It kind of happened fast, like just all in a matter of about three weeks. Just about that time ago I had not even close to the money I needed to go back, but the Lord just completely blew me away with His provision! I had to laugh, I remember my missions class teacher talking about how we're always so surprised when God goes over and beyond, and its like, why are we surprised? He's GOD, but we always still are, and I was. I was telling people I probably wasn't going back, and next thing I know I'm buying a plane ticket. I think I got a really good plane ticket as well. I'm actually getting to fly out of our 'local' town (its an hour away, but that is local for us) so we don't have the drive 3+ hours to go to a airport, and its a real small one so going through security and all that should be a breeze. Then I only have two stops after that, then Budapest!

That is kind of just a little update on what is going on in my life right now. I've had every intention of updating about it sooner, but I've just found myself staring at the big blank box with a blinking cursor...but there you have it! I'm going to go close these sleepy eyes of mine now!

I sometimes get weird blogging inspirations.

Firstly, before I get into anything else, I just finished watching the movie 127 Hours.

Oh.My.Word.

Needless to say, I am now watching Land Before Time.

I spent half the time wincing, grinding my teeth, and covering my eyes with my pillow… but then all of a sudden it’s done! and you feel relief wash over you. It is my own fault, I’ve wanted to see it and since I’m house/dog sitting this week I decided to rent and watch it. It is a good movie, I thought. It’s just very intense, people.

On the subject of movies... what I was going to talk about was something opposite of a movie like 127 Hours. Chick flicks actually. Weird? Yes. (hey, when blogging inspiration strikes I better grab it) You know though, those movies that always are so predictable, boy meets girls, they fall in love, something happens between them, but in the end they end up back together. It is where the guy tells the girls every single thing she wants to hear, he is sweet, charming, dashing good looks, the perfect guy. I really have to be real here, I’m not a huge expert on chick flicks, I mean I'm the one who picks out a movie about a guy having to cut his own arm off.

I was thinking about them the other day, and happened to discuss it with my sister, and thought about girls I have talked to, and it seems to me that chick flicks give girls and unrealistic expectations of guys. Now, I’m not like a crazy extremist or anything, and I’m not really saying they are bad. I myself really enjoy a couple, A Walk to Remember and the Notebook always gives me those warm fuzzies inside. BUT, I believe they have to be had in moderation. Maybe I’m being ridiculous, but hey it’s my blog I’m allowed. But I know it’s been true of me at least, you watch those kinds of movies and you have this wishful expectation of a guy that doesn’t even exist. Now, on the flipside of this, I’m not one of those girls that hates every guy in the whole world, is anti-guy, and thinks they are all a bunch of creeps and jerks. I personally think that is a silly attitude. I know several great gentleman, and some of those being members of my family. I just know that those kinds of movies portray these guys that really aren’t….normal.(maybe not everyone one, again I’m not an expert) I honestly feel sorry for some guys, there are these girls with all these expectations that no every day guy can fulfill. With that, let me say that I’m NOT saying that since there are no perfect guys out there, that that means you can just settle for any ole guy…I’m all for being picky. By all means, look for your Mr Darcy…or whoever. Just don’t expect him to be perfect, and to always do just the right thing to you, tell what you always want to hear. Give the poor guys a break, I’ve been friends with guys and they just tend to be clueless… :] I think it can be the same way in books, and that is probably more for me than anything. I love to read, not that I read ‘romance novels’ but it doesn’t really matter if it is a murder/mystery, or whatever you are going to have some romance. Anyway, I know most of yall out there are married ladies, but this was just something I was thinking about the other day.

Again, I’m not saying go into your movie cabinet and chunk out all your chick flicks, it is just something to think about I guess. I mean, I may not be the best to listen to…I mean, as I mentioned I do watch movies about a guy who has to cut his arm off and all.

Ha.

Speaking all of these such things, as I mentioned before I’m house/dog sitting…and you know the more I do it, the more I realize how much I just do not want to live alone. Coming back to an empty house gets old, and boring. At least I have Nelly to keep me company…she is always super ecstatic to see me when I walk in the door. Don’t even get me started on cooking for myself, I. hate. It. I haven’t really learned the art of it I guess, I cook something and make myself enough to last me a week. So I really eat lots of corn dogs…grilled cheese…PB&J, oh and pickles. Does anyone feel sorry for me yet?

Well, these are my Monday night blunderings. I think I’ll finish Land before Time now…I should probably proof read this before I post it…but, I never do…so why start now? Yall just get the raw copy dontcha know.

Wedding fever?

Is there even such a thing as wedding fever? I think there has to be, unless there is another name for it. It's like, baby fever you know.

I have to be honest, dig deep down in my depths and share that I, Sara, have wedding fever. Thanks to my brother’s wedding this past Friday, and well, everyone else’s wedding. I feel like everyone and their dog is getting married…maybe not their dog, that is silly, but you get my point, yes? I know I’m being overly dramatic…but I did find myself standing there Friday wishfully wishing it was my own wedding.

Enough about my wedding fever. My brother’s wedding was so nice, the weather was perfect, and both the bride and groom looked amazing. It was just a small family wedding, on the ranch where my brother works.

I’m proud of them, and honestly it is still so crazy to me that my big brother is married!

I think they make quite the handsome couple!

Oh hi.

Just stopping in for my monthly visit.

It has been a busy summer! I'm working full time, and then I come home and get horseback for a little while. My little brother has a horse show coming up, so I'm taking what I remember from my horse show days and practicing with him. Plus working with a little colt I've had for awhile. My days have been staying pretty full!

I shot my co-workers/friends wedding last weekend.

It was a really small, but cute wedding! I'm really excited for her, she and Joe make a cute pair.

I took some newborn pictures of my new little niece today...

she's kinda cute, huh?

I've been really learning self discipline since I've been home. I'll be honest, I struggle with that day to day spending with the Lord, and not letting myself get to 'busy', it is an easy excuse for me, always has been...but the Lord shows me what I am spending my time with, and those little things I could cut out. Maybe getting up a little earlier. Honestly is getting up 30 minutes earlier than normal really going to kill me? no, not at all...though sometimes it seems that way when that alarm clock goes to buzzing in the morning. I spoke with one of the pastors wives at school before I came home, I was telling her my worries about coming home...about letting myself slip away from that daily devotional time. She just told me that it is simply about learning self discipline. Keeping in the Word, continually, and daily, even when I'm tired. Because there are going to be days when your tired, and and you make excuses. Being in the Word is what is going to keep me going, and what has been keeping me going. It is a simple truth, but so necessary. My missions class teacher emphasized having a daily devotional life more then anything, it will be our lifeline. I pray that the Lord makes me crave it, and He obliges.
Have that sweet daily Jesus time friends!
