Merry Christmas Eve

I was told today at work that I was one of 'those' Christmas people.

Did the Santa hat give it away??

Or maybe it is the fact that I still act like I'm 12 around Christmas time.

But I do apologize for not being a scrooge.

I love Christmas, just in case you haven't taken notice. And since my birthday is also December 25th I get double the excitement. Do you know what that does to a person? Put those two days together and its just to much.


Of course the best part of Christmas being Christ! Remembering why He came, and how incredible it is that He did. He came to save men from their sins, He came to die.

Kiss your sweetheart under the mistletoe ( and if you don't have one, just find a random stranger ;) I really don't condone that actually ) sip on a little eggnog, none for me though thanks. Watch some Christmas movies, even the cheesy hallmark kind, crank up those Christmas tunes, enjoy family, and seek out Christ.

Wedding photography, and a love that could not be

I love weddings.

Especially one that is done glorifying to Christ, between two godly people.

With that love for weddings, I have always wanted to do wedding photography.

So my friend told me about a month ago she had a wedding for us to shoot. It was a friend of hers, and would be pretty small. I thought well, why not jump on that like a rat of a cheeto. I was a little nervous though, I have heard nightmare stories of photographing weddings. But we settled on doing it and made the plans. And since I can never have enough camera stuff, I decided I wanted to see about buying a new lens. Well that idea was quickly shut down whenever I discovered there was no way I could afford one. My friend then told me about borrowlenses.com. A nifty little site where you can rent lenses. I found this one

I received it Friday before the wedding. It was love at first shot. Oh I want this lens so badly. Having to send it back Monday nearly broke my heart in two ((There I go with being over dramatic again)) but really, it was beautiful.


So Sunday we met the bride at her home to snap a few shots of her getting ready.

Honestly we were a little disappointed in the ceremony ones. We had no good lightening whatsoever. There were two big windows, but they were covered. So a lot of them came of kind of fuzzy, which there isn't a lot more aggravating then that. We definitely needed two tripods.

It really was a pretty wedding. The bride was as sweet as she could be, and the groom was just great. We had a blast photographing it. Kinda got an idea of what to do, and what not to do. We got some shots we really loved, they are no Jasmine Star but hey maybe one day!

19 days!!


Since our plans to go visit my brother last weekend were foiled with us all coming down with the stomach flu, we made a visit down this weekend! He's living down around Fort Stockton and Alpine Texas. This was my first time down that direction, and I absolutely loved it. It is gorgeous country. You get to drive through this big canyon going to his house, then he's kind of down in a valley.

Sunday he droves us around a little. We took us to this one place where we climbed up to the top of a hill.

There was quite the view!

I definitely don't think I'd have a problem living there. It would be fun country to ride in!
It was good getting to see Taylor, and I think we all enjoyed the weekend!

While we were down there, we got chop a Christmas tree! Nathan and I put it up this evening.

It is kind of big around, but I think its a pretty tree!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

I am, Running Deer who Christmas Decorates.

This was my Christmas decorating garb I sported throughout the day at work, while Caroline and I got the hardware all Christmased up. It looks quite amazing, and I should have taken a picture. We did decide though that with all the garland we used, it kind of felt like you were walking into a forest.

I love, love Christmas decorations, and decorating for Christmas. If I am ever to have a place of my own I'm going to go all out.

Not with the big giant blow up decorations though. Running Deer who Christmas Decorates is NOT a fan.


Well it has come to my knowledge that my music collection is lacking Christmas tunes, so I believe I'm going to go fix that!
