It all started this morning, my boss calls me and tells me to have the day off. So I spend the day doing school, reading, a other various things. Four rolls around and I decide to go drive around see if I can find anything interesting to take pictures of. I turn off onto this one road, realize its a wee bit sandy so go to turn around and leave...and I..well get stuck. More liked buried my pickup in the sand. I have no cell service whatsoever.
So I spend the next few hours trying to dig myself out with numerous objects. I almost get out a few times, but just don't make it. It was then that I started to feel somewhat hopeless. I was stuck in the middle of nowhere, quite a while from home, and no cell service. I didn't know what to do, I sat there, I walked around muttering, I started to pray. There were a couple of places I could get one bar on my phone, but anytime I tried calling out all I got was "call failed." I came so close to throwing my phone. Course that wouldn't have done any good. I'm not much of a crier, but I was coming close. For the first hour I was ok, not really all that worried about it. But as time goes on, sun starts going down, I was getting a little worried. Finally I just started walking, and get a couple bars, so I try calling, praying it goes through, and it does! I'm not sure I've ever felt more relieved.
My parents came for my rescue. Sad things is, once I was out and rescued my dads pickup got stuck. Whoa boy. So we spent the next few hours trying to HIS out. We finally did, after wondering if we'd ever get it out. But we did, and right as a storm was blowing in. Thank you Jesus. So below are a couple of pictures.
yep

my self portrait of my distressed self :P

it actually got stuck TWO times. We got it out once, only to have it get stuck once again.

I'm kinda glad that adventure is over. I think I will look back and laugh, probably pretty soon. Right now I'm just glad I'm not sitting out there in a storm, covered in dirt and smelling like exhaust.
